In the middle of the grass-covered hills north of Livermore there is one peak that stands out with its rocks and oaks top, and that is Brushy Peak. The creeks and ponds of Brushy Peak are home to the endangered red-legged frog, as well as to the chorus frogs and the common toads. This time of year Brushy Peak Preserve is teeming with life - hopping amphibians, singing birds, and squirrels and rabbits racing about. Spring is a fleeting season in Brashy Peak - in two months the preserve will dry out and the weather will be too hot to enjoy a mid-day hike. This 2 miles loop hike, level mildly moderate, starts at 10:00 am.
